Volunteer Opportunity Description:

City Vision Internships is a Christian one-year, multi-year or summer internship program based on the AmeriCorps model. Interns serve at one of over 40 positions across the USA and Canada. In the past 10 years, we have placed over 500 full-time interns and 68,000+ volunteers in hundreds of Christian ministries. Job Description: The RealEd program seeks, to provide a framework that empowers young people to think through their own values and morals and make healthy decisions about life and relationships. Relationships Under Construction teaches sexual risk avoidance with the goal of helping young people evaluate different lifestyles and choose the lifestyle with optimal health not only for themselves, but for their future families. The primary role of the relationship education intern is to prepare and deliver presentations to youth in local schools, churches, and other venues about premarital sexual decision-making and healthy lifestyle choices. Topics addressed in the presentation include: Sex is Powerful, Thinking Ahead (Feel, Think, Act), Decision Making, Emotional Baggage, Boundaries, Arousal, Intimacy, character education, and marriage. Working as a member of the team, the intern will integrate aspects of their own personal story into the presentation to communicate themes of worth and value, regardless of one?s body or sexual resume. May be during a semester, full school year or longer. Responsibilities: Responsible to work with the entire team to prepare and deliver presentations Learn the content of the presentation and present with your own voice Engage with youth on their questions and comments about the content being taught Be punctual, responsible, and dressed appropriately at schools Benefits: For Interns without a Bachelors Degree:One Year Work Study Internship

Provides a work study internship with free tuition in City Vision College for a full year paid by hosting ministry.

Online courses providing accredited degrees in Nonprofit Management, Addiction Studies, and Urban Missions.

Any Pell grant or other federal financial aid paid as cash payment to student (up to $5,645).

Expectation is typically 29 hours of volunteer work with 16 hours of class work per week (45 hours total).

Up to $600/month rental stipend

For Interns with a Bachelors Degree:Community Fellows Internship

Full Scholarship for a Master's in Social Entrepreneurship through City Vision University

Two years of supervised nonprofit or ministry experience interning 35 hours/week.

Requirements

At least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Must be a Christian

U.S. or Canadian citizen, U.S. or Canadian national or lawful permanent resident alien, or have a valid student or work visa

Able to make at least a one year commitment (may be extended by mutual agreement)

Able to financially live on just free housing and any outside income sources you have.

Able to relocate to a location of a ministry site (unless a site exists at your current location)
